Getting Started with OCC

Learn about the prerequisites for the metrics monitoring and capacity management features in OCC.

Metrics Monitoring

The metrics monitoring feature in OCC is available only to the owner or operator of the realm.

Note

The owner or operator of the OC1 realm is Oracle. The owners and operators for dedicated cloud realms may be different.

Before you begin using the metrics monitoring feature of OCC, ensure that the following prerequisites are met:

  • You have access to an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure tenancy.
  • Each service in OCI integrates with IAM for authentication and authorization, for the Console. Access permissions are provided to users within a particular compartment. You can create a compartment or reuse an existing one. See Managing Compartments.
  • An administrator in your organization needs to set up groups, compartments , and policies  that control which users can access which services, and which resources, and the type of access they have. See Authentication and Authorization and OCC Policies and Permissions.
  • Create a tenancy to access the Console and share the OCID of the tenancy with Oracle. Only allowlisted tenancies have access to the metrics monitoring feature in OCC. You can access OCC after allowlisting of the tenancy is complete.

Before you begin using the capacity management feature of OCC, ensure that the following prerequisites are met:
