Internet of Things (IoT) introduces domain group types Development and Production

  • Now you can create a new IoT domain group that uses one of the new DEVELOPMENT or PRODUCTION IoT domain group types.
    • DEVELOPMENT: Uses fewer resources and has a higher Recovery Time Objective (RTO), making it suitable for development and testing.
    • PRODUCTION: Recommended for production workloads.
  • If you created an IoT domain group previously that uses LIGHTWEIGHT or STANDARD values for the domain group type, then make sure you create a new IoT domain group using one of the new values before the effective deprecation date on April 14, 2027. If you created an IoT domain group using the IoT API or CLI after April 14, 2026, then it's a DEVELOPMENT or PRODUCTION IoT domain group. The default domain group type is DEVELOPMENT. To confirm the type, you can get an IoT domain group's details.
