Note

On January 1, 2025, Oracle Linux 7 moved from Premier Support to Oracle Linux Extended Support. Oracle Cloud customers using Oracle Linux are entitled to both Premier Support and Extended Support (when offered).   • Includes the following enhancements in oci-utils:
    • Added support for updating instance metadata.

      Usage: oci-metadata --update KEY=VALUE [KEY=VALUE, ...]

      VALUE can be a string, a JSON value, or a pointer to a file with JSON content in the format: KEY=file:/path-to-file

    • Added support to retrieve and update the instance metadata using the intance OCID.

      Usage: oci-metadata --instance-id OCID

    • Added support to export keys as environment variables to use with the -g option when executing in a bash shell.

      Usage: oci-metadata --get KEY --export

      For example:

      {{bash$ oci-metadata --get MyKey --export export MyKey="some value"}}

      {{bash$ eval $(oci-metadata --get MyKey --export) }}

  • Enhancements in oracle-cloud-agent to update the agent version and bug fixes.
