Use SQL Performance Analyzer
As a Database Administrator, you can use SQL Performance Analyzer in SQL Performance Watch to assess the impact of system changes on the overall execution time of the SQL workload and on the response time of every individual SQL statement in the workload.
Using SQL Performance Analyzer, you can:
- Predict the impact of system changes on SQL workload response time
- Analyze performance differences before and after system change
- Obtain a fine-grained performance analysis of individual SQL statements
To access SQL Performance Analyzer in SQL Performance Watch:
- Sign in to the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure console.
- Open the navigation menu, click Observability & Management. Under Database Management, click SQL Performance Watch.

- View database details, such as the database type and version
- Create a SQL Performance Analyzer task, which captures all
the data about a complete SQL Performance Analyzer analysis by:
- Creating a pre-change SQL trial to measure performance
- Creating a post-change SQL trial to measure performance
- Comparing pre-change and post-change trials to estimate the impact on performance
- Monitor SQL Performance Analyzer tasks and view SQL Performance Analyzer comparison reports
