Moving a Public Safety and Security Instance to Another Compartment

Move a Public Safety and Security instance to another compartment in the same tenancy.

When the move is accepted, the instance reports the destination compartment and enters UPDATING. The associated work request remains in the source compartment. The new compartment value doesn't mean that the move has completed; monitor the work request until it finishes.

If the move fails, get the instance again to check its current compartment and lifecycle state, and review the work request errors before retrying.

Ensure that the required IAM policies exist in the destination compartment.

    1. Open the Navigation menu, select Oracle Public Safety and Security, and then under Public Safety and Security, select Instances.
    2. Select the compartment, and then select the instance that you want to move.
    3. Start the move action and select the destination compartment.
    4. Submit the move and note the returned work request.
    5. Monitor the work request until the move succeeds or reports an error.

    The instance OCID doesn't change.

  • Use the following command to move a Public Safety and Security instance to another compartment.

    oci pss instance change-compartment --compartment-id <compartment-OCID> --instance-id <instance-OCID>
