Canceling a Public Safety and Security Work Request

Request cancellation of a Public Safety and Security work request when its operation can be canceled.

  • Request cancellation only when the work request's operation can be canceled. Cancellation doesn't create another work request.

    1. Follow Listing Public Safety and Security Work Requests to open the instance's work requests, and select the work request for the operation.
    2. Start the cancel action and confirm the request.
    3. Continue monitoring the original work request until it reaches a terminal state.

    A cancellation request doesn't guarantee that every underlying operation can be stopped. When Public Safety and Security accepts cancellation of a create work request before creation completes, the work request becomes CANCELED and the still-creating Public Safety and Security instance becomes FAILED.

  • Use the following command to request cancellation of a Public Safety and Security work request. Continue monitoring the same work-request OCID after the command is accepted.

    oci pss work-request cancel --work-request-id <work-request-OCID>

  • Run the CancelWorkRequest operation to request cancellation of a Public Safety and Security work request. The operation returns 202 Accepted. Continue monitoring the original work request; cancellation doesn't return a replacement work-request OCID. When Public Safety and Security accepts cancellation of a create work request before creation completes, the original work request becomes CANCELED and the still-creating Public Safety and Security instance becomes FAILED.
