Overview
IAM integration with Database Tools connections provides the following benefits:
- A centralized way to manage user identities and access permissions across multiple databases and tools.
- Users authenticate with IAM credentials reducing the need to store or share database passwords.
- Access to connections can be managed using IAM roles and policies, ensuring users only have the minimum permissions required.
For more information about IAM, see Identity and Access Management.
This figure illustrates how the Database Tools service connects to an Oracle Database using token-based IAM authentication over a private network path.
