Applying Locks to Metastore Instances

Apply locks to your metastore instances to avoid accidental tampering or deletion of the resources.

Note

You can apply locks only if you're an administrator or a user with Manage permissions.

On the Data Catalog service page, select Metastores. If you need help finding the Metastores page, see Listing Metastores.
On the Metastores page, select the Actions menu (three dots) for the instance for which you want to apply the lock and select Apply lock.
In the Manage lock dialog box, select one or both of the following options:
- Full lock: Select this option to let authorized users only read from the resource.
- Delete lock: Select this option to let authorized users read and change the resource. However, they can't delete the resource.
If you select both the options, the Full lock option takes precedence.
Select Close.
On the Metastores page, the Lock type column displays the type of lock applied to an instance.
