Using Power Cycle for Managed Services for Mac

Perform a hard reset of your Mac when performing tasks that require a restart using Power Cycle Mac with Managed Services for Mac.

The Power Cycle Mac feature allows you to remotely restart one or more Macs associated with an order in Managed Services for Mac using the OCI Console. This tool helps you recover from temporary issues or apply changes that require a restart, without needing physical access to the device.

When you use the Power Cycle Mac feature, your Mac restarts gracefully. Any active user sessions on the Mac are interrupted and workload running on the device might be temporarily disrupted. The Mac returns to an active state after the restart completes successfully. No data is deleted or changed as part of the restart.

Note

After you start a Power Cycle, there is a 15-minute waiting period where no subsequent restarts are allowed. After waiting period is over, you can perform another restart using Power Cycle Mac again.

You must have the appropriate permission to run Power Cycle Mac. Restarting your Mac might temporarily disrupt workloads running on the device. If a Mac isn't in an Active state, the Power Cycle option might not be available. If the Power Cycle fails, retry the operation or contact Oracle Support.
