Activating an Artifact

Activate an artifact to make it the running version for a deployment in the OCI Generative AI service.

Activating an artifact makes its container image version the running version for the deployment. Only one artifact can be active at a time. When you activate a new artifact, the artifact that was active before becomes inactive.

This task documents the steps for activating an artifact by using the Oracle Cloud Console.

Tip

You can delete only inactive artifacts. To add or view artifacts for a deployment, see Adding an artifact and Listing artifacts.

To activate an artifact, follow these steps:

  1. Open the navigation menu  and select Analytics & AI. Under AI Services, select Generative AI.
  2. Under Generative AI, select Applications.
  3. Select the application that contains the deployment.
  4. In the application's detail page, select the Deployments tab.
  5. Select the deployment that contains the artifact you want to activate.
  6. In the deployment details page, find the artifact you want to activate and open its Actions menu (three dots).
  7. Select Activate, and then confirm the activation.
    Note

    The selected artifact becomes active and the artifact that was active before becomes inactive.
