Updating a Patch Type

Update the name of a custom patch type in Fleet Application Management.

If you update a patch type that's associated with a product, the patch type is also updated in the product definition.

You can't update an Oracle-defined patch type.

1. Open the navigation menu and click Observability & Management. Under Fleet Application Management, click Administration.
2. Under Metadata management (on the left side of the page), click Patch types.
3. Select the checkbox next to the patch type that you want to update, and then select Edit.

  To find a patch type by name, enter its name in the Search field.
4. In the Edit panel, update the patch type name. Avoid entering confidential information.
5. Click Save changes.
Use the oci fleet-apps-management fleet-apps-management-admin platform-configuration update-platform-configuration-patch-type-config-category-details command and required parameters to update a patch type:
oci fleet-apps-management fleet-apps-management-admin platform-configuration update-platform-configuration-patch-type-config-category-details [OPTIONS]

Run the UpdatePlatformConfiguration operation to update information of a patch type.
