Credentials in Fleet Application Management
Manage credentials to authenticate a product and allow a fleet to access the resources in Fleet Application Management.
Use an Oracle-provided encryption key or a custom key in the Vault service to encrypt and manage credentials. A vault is a logical entity that stores the encryption keys and secrets you use to protect the credentials. See Managing Vaults and Managing Keys.
Manage fleet, resource, and target credentials in Fleet Application Management. The following are the three types of supported credentials:
- Fleet credentials: The specific credentials or authentication information required for the applications hosted by a fleet. These credentials are used during lifecycle management operations to authenticate and authorize actions performed on the applications.
- Resource credentials: The credentials that are specific to a particular resource, such as a server or database, but can be shared and used across several targets within a fleet.
- Target credentials: The credentials that are specific to the operating product home of a target resource. These credentials are required for the discovery and lifecycle management operations of the target on the resource.
