Resetting a Device Console Password

You can reset Roving Edge Device Console user account passwords using the Roving Edge serial console.

The Device Console password expires after 90 days, after which you must reset it to generate a new temporary password. See Accessing the Roving Edge Infrastructure Device Console.

1. Using terminal emulation to display the serial console, select Advanced Menu, then select Identity Management.

2. Select Reset Web Console User Account.
3. Enter y to confirm the reset.
4. When prompted, enter the unlock passphrase.
5. Enter the name of the user whose account password you want to reset.

6. Copy and save the temporary password to a safe place and provide it to the user.

   The next time that the user signs in to the Roving Edge Device Console with the temporary password, they're prompted to set a new password.
